Just got back from running to the store and the thermometer says -5*F wind chill is -22*. Ouch it actually kind of hurts. Reloaded last night at 9pm with a fairly full load of black locust. Woke up at 6am with the house at 68*and the stove at 250*. Tossed 3 small maple splits on to burn down the coals and the house is now 70* and getting ready to reload for the day.

    Well, this is disappointing.
-1 last night @11, and the house was down to about 69 when I got the load in and went to bed. Stove was as full as I could get it with all Oak.
4° this morning @ 7:45 and the living room where I take main temp was @ 61.2. Stove temp @ 250, and plenty of coals for relight.

That is a little cool. But, I guess that is better than 41.2. :D

    - 4.5 this morning, I ran the pellet stove, 68 in the living room upstairs, 75 in the basement where we heat from.

The Liberty's blower stopped working so I'll tackle that tonight, called the dealer who gave me some tips on narrowing down the problem.

I checked the camp this morning and put another bag of pellets into the Pellet Stove. I have it set on 3-3 now and at 0° outside it was 46 in the front room where the stove is. Small fan helps to push heat to the back of the camp. I am going to go buy another ton sometime soon. Maybe this weekend.

-2 at home this AM. A balmy 21* here in NE. Supposed to get "significant" snow this weekend....which is a change from "moderate" in yesterday's forecast. Need to get home before that snow starts flying.

I got that as a gift a few years ago and at the time I think it was slightly under $40. But then they stopped selling them like that and they lousy options now.

BUT. Amazon has one made by the same company and it looks even better, as it uses an atomic clock set by radio waves and probably gets some other information that way.

$40, looks like a deal. <-- click the link

Dam. The wind here off the river is cold. It has warmed up to 18°, but the wind is _ _ _ _ _ _ _ cold.

Think Im getting this ONE as I recently installed a security system with z-wave tech. I can mount this outside and get the readings on my phone, computer, security keypad and tv :) probably get a couple as you can name them in the menu with the locations. Seeing yours inspired me.

Yep. And with the same app I can turn DOWN the thermostat from anywhere in the world ;) that is until I install my wood boiler.

I wonder if there is an inexpensive way to just monitor your home temp, via phone

Call a local neighbor who never goes to work due to retirement, or just plain laziness, and ask them what the temp is. :D
