What the heck? -8f out there and its dropping like there isn't a bottom! Didn't think it was supposed to be below zero tonight, but...….. Sorry Well Seasoned Canadian border VT rottiman you'll all get this once I'm done with it!!!!
yooperdave Forecast says I don’t go negative again til Wednesday.. 3-6 inches between now and then.. it’s currently 20 out 75 in and burning paper birch ... cause it’s dry
Around freezing temps today, but snow is supposed to be here this afternoon. But it's already flurrying out. 1-3" supposedly. Then maybe rain? Whatever. Burning uglies and chunkies. Elm, oak, ash, maple chunks...
This morning the weather guessers were saying we might see snow around noon. Almost 2:30 now and the snow line is still south of La Crosse, but slowly coming north. Brought wood in this morning to top off the wood boxes.
40*F here and burning down some coals. It's supposed to rain all night till noon tomorrow... yuck, I hate dealing with the mud... We've only had a few frozen ground days that I depend on to get around out in the woods. I'll put in a load of Ash tonight at bedtime to keep the house toasty overnight in this damp weather.
26F this morning. I didnt do an evening fire yesterday, because everyone runs in shoulder season mode in mod February, right? House was 61F this morning. Half a load of oak just went in.
19f here. We were -24f the Sunday Morning at the cabin. I drove us home 25o miles in a steady snowfall yesterday afternoon which warmed us up. Heading down below zero again mid-week before 30s for the weekend.
13 out 76 in on coals still. Supposed to start snowing about 10 am, ending around 10 pm with 3-5” possible but now they’re waffling about the rain/snow line so as usual it’s wait and see time. It’s amazing how much less wood we’ve used vs last year so far.
Thanks Midwinter! They’re predicting a quick changeover with a little ice right during the evening commute so it’ll be interesting. Hopefully not too much.
