Some of these temps are crazy to me.... -20 degrees!!!! That's a rarity here in Northern Nevada. We usually get into the single digits in January and February but I only remember once where we had temps in the -20s.
Snow started around 9 this morning and looks like its getting serious now. Going to head out for the walk soon.
Cloudy and 38 out. So some melting going. Friday high of 11 low of 0. Then it will bounce back up Saturday. With the new roof we are seeing this now.
Woke up to hail tapping on the west window. Tossed two splits of red maple in the firebox. 38ºF outside. Mostly rain. Snow is awful close.
31 and 76 still on coals. About 2”of snow so far, 3-5 expected by the time it ends this afternoon. Calling for -10 tomorrow night but it’s not gonna last. Just a reminder that it’s still winter.
28, they called for 3-6”, looks like about 2”. Mildest winter I can remember so far. Ash in the stove Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pretty lame winter so far here in Maine. Snows have been the same, wet or icy. More of a annoyance snow than a good "storm" On the bright side, wood consumption is way down as I've switched back and forth from the wood boiler to the mini splits 4-5 times this season. Something that I've never done before.
Ended up with 3"-4" and barely below zero temps. Sitting right at -2f. So far, the weather forecast seems to be noting more than hype. Go figure!
... and they wonder why people don't heed the weather reports, the sensationalism that pervades mostly to sell ad time and go out and travel or go about their usual routines.
