A very mild 14ff here now. Overcast (go figure) with snow predicted. Another dusting, that's all.

29 and sunny. Ash in the stove. Trying to talk myself into going out and cutting a little bit.

24* out 68* in. Just beat Horkn 's snow. I swept the chimney quick. Didn't really need it but figured since the roof was clean I'd do it. Snowing here and we need to get to the store for much needed groceries. I have two 4x4's so no big deal. Seems our girls and Floyd are happy we are home.I'm ready to shut the NG furnace back off.

Ha ha, yup. It's 5°F in there right now! I knew that would get some attention. Still waiting on a meme from Midwinter.

They'll stay warm for a bit, but unless a hen gets broody, she'll leave for food & water.

Ahhhhhh, there it is! We ordered 15 sweaters, but they screwed up our order and sent the ones without wing mittens.

I put down some shavings, otherwise they won't come out onto the snow. This gets them into the sun, where it's 29°F instead of in their coop/run where it's still upper single digits.

Started snowing around early this morning and it has finally stopped. We got around 8-10 inches of snow, the most we have gotten at one time this winter. Oak keeping the house warm.

I let the indoor wood furnace burn out this morning. It will be in the 40s overnight. Just lit a nice fire of apple and ash in the fireplace. This certainly has been a mild winter in Virginia.
