Mid 20's here and some snow again. Not much, just enough to put the shovel down. Nothing but mild temps on the extended forecast.
40F out this morning with rain coming. 73F in the house and coasting on coals for a while then 1 or 2 splits at a time to maintain.
Mild temps here have led to slippery road conditions. Had to cancel our walk as within 1/2 block, we must have slipped every dozen steps or so! May see sunshine on Sunday.
It's been raining since around 4:00 am. I wish the snow would melt though because if it freezes again, the snow will be like cement.
34 when I got up, 37 now.....no fire. 39 forecast for tomorrow. This is Januapril, evidently. Furnace can do the work.....I'm busy.
Not particularly cold here, think it got down to 4c/39f last night. I’ve been burning some willow and it’s 25c/77f inside; temps I can only dream of using the oil boiler.
On the way back home from dinner out, the temps were still 33f which led to some sort of slick smooth slippery sheen on the road surface.....
32 deg here now, nice and warm inside. We're burning UFO, Unidentified Firewood Object from the shoulder season pile. Most likely Red Maple past it's prime, I just grabbed a arm load in the dark.
This is amazing. Another night with no freezing. Looks like we might have 1 or 2 more nights this way.
33 here and we’re waiting on the rain arriving tonight. Flood watches in effect for late tonight and tomorrow. It’s supposed to be on the warmer side after the storm briefly but what’s left is gonna turn to cement for sure. We’re not getting enough rain to melt 18-24” of snow. Got some beech waiting for the coals to burn down some more.
43 Burned 48 hours on the last load Threw in about 5 shovels of mill waste just to get temp back up today and will likely shovel ash out when it dies down this afternoon .
Still holding right around 30 here. Man, love these mild temps! Easy does it on the wood pile as I am back to only using 1/2 a fire in the OWB!
