Sweet setup. I wish I had the means to do that...I can't even put a hot water coil box on my stove because the wife doesn't like the way it would look....ya, I said it. Go ahead, bust my rocks....I guess happy wife, happy life...but it's a long hard road with some of them.
I was curious about the sprinkling of rice coal...I guess it gives you a longer heat time? I have always contemplated a few pieces of coal in my woodstove to get a longer heat.

10 deg. here now once again, just added some Cherry and Sugar Maple added to the red hot overnight coals. We'll warm up the joint nicely.

The rice coal adds some nice BTUs without taking up much space. It is small chips and I figure it helps extend the burn time and wood supply a little. I don’t put much in at one time because of the high BTU content, and only sprinkle some in when there is a deep bed of red hot coals. A 40lb. bag is $6.99 at the Tractor Supply Store.

I would not put it in my wood stove. This Gasification Boiler is built much differently.

Much warmer this morning than it has been the last 2 or 3 days. This morning was 14 degrees. Supposed to get up into the high 30's today.

It’s 20 F here this morning with a chunk of Maple and a few Beech splits in with it. A mix of large Pine splits, medium Beech splits, and Ash rounds will go in for the long haul today. Should last a long time today with temperatures going to 35ish.

36 here. Supposed to get 3 days of mixed precipitation starting this afternoon.

Coals were getting a little too deep in the boiler so I'm working on getting those burned down.

Mid 20s out and 77 in. Next 10 days highs in mid 30s and lows in mid 20s. Except for 3 days suppose to get a little snow each day. Don't think it will amount to anything.

You are getting the weather we are in now...low to mid 30s during the day, upper 20s at night, dribs and drabs of snow, and heavy overcast. I don't mind this at all as it won't hurt our good ice on the lakes at all, and it will be enjoyable getting out over the weekend. It is supposed to stay warm like this through next week. Saves on heating too.

We started the day at 15 but made it clear to 40. And now that weekend snow storm has turned to rain. We’ll take it. Time to knock the snow pack down a little anyway.

32ºF outside right now, got up to mid-forties with a nice sunny day. Kept the stove going all day and it's a bit too warm in here right now. I tossed two splits of pine in on top of a deep bed of red maple coals /half burned splits to make it to 9PM for a lsat load and that may have been a mistake. They ignited like gasoline. LOL. Had to turn the air down to almost nothing. We'll see.

2o* out and 55* in, the Mrs. chose not to burn overnight as the house was warm yesterday, hence the cool inside temp this AM. It's probably up to 60* in by now. Sugar Maple in the VC.

Top of the morning to you as well Marvin! 25 and 76 here, waiting for coals to burn down. Looks like today is starting out warm and should get well into the 40’s. Rain due here Saturday night into Sunday. I don’t care for rain in midwinter but it’s not freezing rain at least. It’s not supposed to be enough to cause flooding so there’s that. It’ll make winter seem a bit shorter.
