25 and 76 waiting on the coals. Sunny with a high of 37 predicted so we’ll just keep the fire alive today with a couple splits at a time. Might clean the cat. We’ve used considerably less wood than we had by this time last year and that’s a plus! We’re well stocked for the cold weather to come.
It’s been warm - had to use a fire starter yesterday, no coals left. That’s not normal for this time of year.
Pine fire this morning, just reloaded and that's probably it for today. Partly cloudy and not supposed to get out of the 40ies today so we'll see. Hope anyone driving/traveling anywhere today has fair weather or better.
We are mired in a warming trend. It barely touched freezing overnight. It is supposed to stay cloudy due to all the melting going on so that is not too bad for the ice on the lakes. The 10 day forecast looks mild, but at least below freezing days and teens overnight after Sunday.
Not supposed to be as warm today and probably not. No sun again... That will keep the temperature down a bit, but still above freezing.
39F with filtered sunshine here. Kids & grandkids all just left. We had our family Christmas today & it's been great! Kids played outside for a couple hours after dinner & ran the dogs half to death. As for the weather, well green Christmas for sure, but I'm betting we pay for this. Glad I put up all that Pine & Catalpa. Still sitting on 9ish cord of Oak & Hard Maple for the cold weather. Here's some Pine for next year.
41° burning silver maple and ash. I have to be mindful not to chooch the stove too much. It's not cold outside at all. But I have to have a fire going. It's Christmas Eve!!
Crazy we are still at 52*. Nothing but cool ashes in the stove. We went to my FIl's I didn't even bring a coat.
The lake effect, and being further north will do that. 37° now, and It's 33° at my cabin in tomahawk, and a little warmer up in the parts of the UP.
32 I loaded a pine round about 26” in diameter last nite . Still burning with some added mill waste this morning and tonite.
We’re at 25 and 79 on this Christmas Eve. I just filled up with mixed hardwood as we’re headed for the upper teens. Merry Christmas to you and yours everyone!
37F now, low of 34F tonight. Just re-started (again) the stove. Not sure it I will bother another fire tomorrow.
