21 and 77, birch, beech and ash in the Fireview. Happy first day of winter everyone! Looks like a nice mild stretch for us to welcome the new year. No single digits in the forecast. Hope it continues into January!
Skies cleared up and temps dropped to 17f now. Feels (to me) like 0 out there for my walk though! Yesterday it got up to 30f.
Hi Tom, Merry Christmas to you and your family. My wife once again has the wonderful card framed and on display in the kitchen that your wife made for me, was it two years ago?
I stacked a bit of wood for maybe an hour. It is amazing here. 48 degrees and sunny. Second day of Spring here. More on the way. Love it!
Got into some nice chunks of red maple and got it a little too warm inside today. Last load in the stove was a little after noon. Fell asleep right after supper and now I'm wide awake like it's 6AM. Still too warm for a fire. Supposed to get up to 50ºF today another shoulder season play it by ear day. Finally got the wreath finished and up on the front double window. Long list of things to do outside taking advantage of the warmer weather. Can't be doing this at sunrise:
This is something that is framed and cherished. It comes out at every Christmas, and will for years. Thanks again to Mrs. Rope
It’s been pretty mild here as always seems to be the case around Christmas time - temps haven’t dropped much below 37f/3c and are getting up to 48f/9c in the day. Any hopes of a white Christmas have been well and truly thwarted, there won’t even be any frost
32 headed for 44, 75 inside burning down coals. Looks pretty mild, 30’s and 40’s through the weekend.
Very few but my neighbor has a bunch on the farm. When I have a couple guys come up for a weekend here allows us to go over and take trees coming into the Fields. This helps him, When done we brush hog edges of the fields and make sureNothing on ground to hurt the tractor or choppers.. farmer burns wood, but logger manages woods and drops him firewood.
25 f yes we're getting warm spell thinking about firing up the Weber . Yes anything above 25f is Weber season thinking pork roast . Burning oak . Sent from my LGL84VL using Tapatalk
Don't think we even got down to 32 overnight. Another day of 50 degrees here. Hard to believe (no pun intended) but when I was stacking some wood, that which was in a heap was still frozen too hard for me to want to beat on almost every piece to break it loose. It will wait until spring before it gets stacked. Guess I'll try to go back to cutting if my body will let me.
31 f and house is extra warm oaks burning. Here's forecast for east coast on Jan 6th that's evil .. dark blue is crazy cold snap. Sent from my LGL84VL using Tapatalk
