I burned tops and uglies from the trees I had to cut late last winter, so was able to postpone hitting my stacks until right around Christmas. Have burned a bit this week, but still have almost 2 face cords left in my first stack (1st cord). If we have an early Spring, I may get away with burning about two cords from my stacks. I still have a face cord of uglies stacked for the shoulder season in the Spring.

20º this morning but the winds were brutal, had to blow the drive to get the wife out. 2ft drifts but the new snowblower handled it well. Down to 10º outside right now, got the Buck filled with red oak, ash and sugar maple. Expecting -5º with wind chills of -20º, nice big round of locust ready for tonight.

7º on the back porch this morning. Pine burning in boiler. I ran out of hardwood in the basement yesterday and was to tired and lazy to bring more in last night. So I packed the boiler full of large pine splits and hoped for the best. Then it got cold. LOL. Needless to say she was stone cold empty this morning and the big tank was cold as well. Oil boiler running. Oh well, it needed some exercise anyway. It hasn't run in a long while. I may actually buy some kerosene while the prices are down and add to the tank. I can't remember when I bought any last. Been a long time.

-6 now. Had a small cardboard box in the furnace room from something one of the girls Amazoned. Put my coal in that, swept the floor and filled the box. Lots off odds and uglies to burn off. Kind of a junk load this morning. Will be home all day so I may burn off a few junk loads.

I hear that JustWood. I will be in and out all day. So I am going to burn Pine all day. The boiler goes through it quick, but it likes the taste.
