Still relatively mild here with our temperatures staying really close to 32 day and night. However, that is about to change big time next week as some big time cold is forecast to move in. Just ask yooperdave about that!

Funny next week your getting real cold and by next Monday and Tuesday we'll be in the fifties and near sixties then some cold.At least before the cold most of our snow will be gone. When the real cold comes I have some oak,red maple, elm, and those northern idaho energy logs to throw at it.When it gets colder I'll strike up the monster in the basement.

What am I burning? Coals. Nice 56-degree day; I figured it was a chance to burn the stove down so I could clean the glass and brush off the screen on the cat scoop.

Made 38 here today. As Dennis said, we've been stuck in the low & mid 30's for days. Forecast high for next Wednesday is 18, that'll help harden the ground up I hope. Catalpa & Oak in the boiler.

Low 30's this morning...packed the stove with Oak last night and woke to a very nice bed of coals and the fan still cranking. Couple of pieces of Cherry & Pine to keep her going. With the exception of tomorrow (40) a very mild forecast ahead 52 today, Mon & Tues calling for 60.

54 now and gonna be in the 40s, low 50s for highs for the next couple weeks. Lows in 20s, low 30s. I'm using up the shoulder season wood. Oak, walnut, hickory branch wood. I feel weird to be burning wood from a Bradford my great-grandfather planted, but it's not like it'll do much good if I just watch it rot, either.

I was up at 4:30 and the temp was hovering about 24°. It's warmed up a bit and at 1:30 it's up to 36°.

Burning oak, cherry, and maple and a toasty 72° indoors of course!

Put a few splits of pine in at 6PM but it's 74ºF in here now. Rain is done so now the cold will stream in behind the front but I'm not putting any more in the stove. Maybe in the morning. Supposed to be sunny so might get enough solar gain.
Sunny will be nice I can cut up and split some two year old pine logs I need to get to. Getting low on pine again.

Already 36. Gonna be below freezing tonight. A big chunk of oak limb on the coals. I even had to open the bedroom window.
