Forecasted low of 28* tonight so will probably be about 22-24* at my place. Ash and cherry keeping the house warm tonight. It's looking like we will see overnight lows in the teens soon.

Yep. I am familiar with Tamarack. Didn’t know it was the same thing.

First fire of the season. A whopping frigid 56ºF outside. But it was 63ºF in the stove room.
So a load of pine seemed to be in order:

We are at 14f at this early hour, probably dropping to 12f soon, and heading for single digits early next week. Just south of here where they got the snow it hit 1f yesterday morning. This is some wood burning and good ice making weather. On the other hand I suspect it is warmer than usual right now in parts of Alaska. Would be interesting to hear reports from members up that way.

It's currently 24 outside & a comfy (to us) 69 inside. Small maple bits/splits in the stove. Got our first dusting of snow overnight.

First time this year in the teens.

Really noisy walking outside right now with the snow on the leaves and very crunchy. Opened door to get some wood off porch and scared some deer. Wow! The noise of them running! I decided to not hunt. For sure every animal would know I'm coming.

9f for my morning walk today. No new snow but that temp felt a bit cooler.

Sun is out but for how long?

No real snow but a few flakes last night here in north central Massachusetts. It was 22'F when I got up at 6:30AM and it has warmed to 25'F now at 9:00AM.

Burning nicely aged oak and maple in the Fireview and the AS downstairs is stone cold. (I don't burn it until my wife complains about being cold doing laundry, or when it's below 10'F. We're just not down there so much anymore. It used to be my home office when I was a working stiff.

Burned some Hickory and beech last night once I got home from work. Last nights weather wasn’t the greatest. Rain, cold, 39 degrees. Good night for a fire.

I watched 3 bucks chasing does yesterday afternoon. Just like it has gone so far this year though; too far away for an arrow.

The cold is making it this way. Been about 35ºF all day, with some good solar gain haven't need a fire but that will change pretty soon with the sun dropping, so will the temps inside. Probably load the stove in a couple hours here.

Edit: 31ºF outside already. Back from Thanksgiving roast shopping and stove room is already 61ºF
Full tilt boogie with the pine. Some dead standing pine that got really soft and is leaving shards everywhere. Good time to get rid of it as any.
AN hour to pick the last of the tomatillos if they are pickable.

Last saturday saw a HUGE buck hanging with a young buck. Just too far. Called and the young one came in and big one waltzed away. Hung out below my stand for 20 minutes. Only little over a week left for our first archery season.

38* and at work, pretty sure house be cold because I didnt load up stove before I left:doh:

More silver maple and pine doing it up. Supposed to be teens over night, might break out a little sugar maple to mix in with the silver. Probably let the pine take the night off.
