    Up at about 6:30 to snow falling. Wet, slushy stuff.
    28 OAT, so of course I made fire. :dex:Just another small one, but I keep adding now and then. IAT at 72.
    Our herd of free range chickens (all 2 of 'em), came out of the Spruce next to the driveway (their summer roost) and ended up on the front porch. They aren't fans of the snow. I'm not a fan of 'em poopin' on the porch.....so there's that.
    Just about time to get 'em in the coop for the winter. Wife will handle that. The herd is hers.

    Our roads were plowed this am.

    That's odd about the Siberian elm for you. Mine is 2 yrs seasoned, and it was nice and easy to light even last year. Granted, it was in log form and was dead for at least 6 months if not longer before it was dropped off in my driveway.

    It split super easy as well when processing it. I wonder if that tree service would have any more that they can drop off for free again. That was ~2 cords worth.:thumbs:

    Threw a 2.5" redbud limb in the stove a little while ago. I know it's dry because I remember trimming that tree for my dad when he was still alive and lived here and he passed may of '15. Boy, that stuff takes forever to catch. But when it does, really takes off. Really dense stuff. That 2.5" had about 25 growth rings.



    Still only 37°. Cold for this time of year in Arkansas.

    You're lucky then! Mine is two year seasoned as well but was very much alive when cut down. The dead stuff I've burned has been quite a bit easier. Even the moisture is reading below 20, like 18% on the big splits. Oh well, not the first time I've had to burn sub par wood.

    32 with a howling NW wind. White mud falling from the sky.

    First time seriously burning this weekend....been limping the boiler along every few days burning just enough for DHW up until today.

    Finishing off the last of the uglies...mostly tulip poplar and ash.

    I don't think we got higher than 33. Back to 28 again tonight, and some more snow.....or as lukem said, white mud. Never really stopped all day, and still hittin' the ground.

    It was 70 when the news was on at 6. Humid with dewpoint in the high 60's. The back door is open too. Been getting windier as night has progressed. High wind warning until 6 AM. Hoping we dont lose power. Couple big trees along landlords section of driveway that have a good lean.
    Rained most of the day. I was jonesing to work on wood this afternoon so rain subsided and i went out with the 261. Rain got too heavy after only a few minutes and came in. Ran an errand, came back. Rain stopped so i cut/split for nearly two hours. Bucked up the red maple from the other day along with some red oak and hickory logs i had up here.     35 here now, rained yesterday and this morning, wind kicked up and temp dropped and snowed a little. I'm burning for the 2nd time this year in the house and 1st time in the shop. I'm mixing tulip poplar and cherry and it's a little too warm in the family room.

    33F here with a NW wind. Rained/snowed all day but didn't amount to much on the ground. .84" of precip along with the several inches we've had is a muddy mess. Supposed to dry up tomorrow at least. Cooler than normal & rain/snow after that. Pine & Oak mix in the boiler.
