Never made 60 here today, that's gotta be rare or even a record for mid June. Starting to wonder what Fall is gonna bring. May have to plan for 365 burning or put a small stove inside somewhere for damp cool weather.

He's in Northern California, and he's a close talker! Should be 105 degrees here and 107 tomorrow

No fire tonight, but lots of light for the solstice. 31862008-982F-4BBF-B3D8-F9D7FB951C52.png 89D26864-3E00-410C-B167-1197DEB80312.png

I too was wondering about that. My guess is that they have a short period of twilight and then back into good light.

That must be an data error /handling in wunderground's mobile-friendly website as the data is just missing in the non-mobile version:

seems to me also that daylight should be represented in a lighter color in the graphic, not a darker one, but that just might be me being a tad bit too logical.

Mr Dennis is correct, with twilight it was just after midnight when I got home last night and the automatic lights didn’t activate to come on. By definition the sun had set, it doesn’t go low enough to get dark. In summer the earth had rotated on its axis and Alaska being on top, the sun orbits the sky and during the 3 or so hours of sunset the sun is at the horizon and can be seen through the trees. The moon rises and falls this time of year. Come winter as the earth rotates on the axis the sun will rise and fall and the moon will orbit.

Hey gang! I haven't posted in this thread for awhile so thought I would come on and mention that we were 1c/33.8f and heavy rain over night. Up the mountain a bit there was a foot and a half of fresh snow. I'm glad we dodged a bullet in town as I don't think my apple tree would have liked that heavy wet slop! Yesterday we had a lite frost but none of our fragile plants are outside yet. Now at high noon weve warmed up to 7c/44f with low cloud. I don't care to have indoor fires when its cool this time of year but will likely turn the furnace on.

Burning bark, uglies, and splitter trash this evening outdoors. Wife and kids are in bed, but it was good while they lasted. Listening to The Doors, enjoying some of Nicaragua's finest tobacco offerings and a few barley pops.

Life is good while it lasts, enjoy it while you have it! Tomorrow a roof goes on woodshed #1, and it will be filled with cut down splits that were made for the boiler and have been cut to silly short lengths because the IS won't take 24". Mini-me will be glad to help I'm sure. :)

Saw pictures of various places in Colorado. Either snow or hail covering the ground. One ski area plans to be open until June 30. That is what you call a long winter!

Great here. Got to mid 70's and sunny yesterday and expect a repeat today. More rain expected tomorrow.

Nice comfortable evening here in Southern CT, maybe 70*. Humid and rainy unsettled weather all week til the sun came out late yesterday afternoon. Sunny and pleasant most of today with high near 80, some clouds this afternoon with a couple very brief "spits".
