52* now outside and we probably hit our high. 62* inside. We don't get above the mid 60s until Friday. I set a small fire yesterday to drive the chill away. I think I will light one shortly. Kind of wanting wait until evening.
Did get some wood split and the sun even was shinning while I split the wood. Nice. That also got the temperature up into the 50's.
It was 55ºF outside this morning, with a maybe sunny morning on the forecast. 47ºF now and rain. Pine in the stove. Also filled the 3 day wood shed with some pine. Plenty enough for tonight and tomorrow and then some warmer weather is supposed to get here.
Cold and wet here still. Saw snowflakes again. Re-lit on coals this morning and again this afternoon. Will top off at bed time and see how we look in the morning. Glad I picked up a rain coat this winter. Bet they're sold out about now!
Just a touch of rain today. Otherwise, sunny and dry ground once again...……… but still can't kneel on the ground without moisture soaking through the knees immediately! And.... STILL firing the OWB here!
Got up to 70 today and I got some splitting done. This was my first time splitting apple. That was some twisty stuff complete with black ants. Did some elm and white oak along with the apple.
38 here now. Mostly wet for the next few days, but highs will be in the 50's and 60's! (don't want to ask for too much ya know)
39° here! Heavy rain overnight, but it has let up this morning. Good thing because I need to bring more wood in. 70's predicted for next week, that will feel nice until the bugs and sweating start.
Been burning pine all morning. No sun, light rain on and off and 47ºF outside. Three more days of April showers but it supposed to be in the 60ies starting tomorrow. Today just might actually be the last burn of the season. Some sun so I could cut the lawn would be nice.
42 here and I kept the fire going from last night. I have enough left for 5 or 6 days without tapping into next years wood, which I refuse to do, so we’re almost done one way or another. The heat pump will have to handle it from there. The black flies have been fierce for the last 2 weekends when we were able to get out. Maine State bird don’t ya know! They’re usually thinned out some by the Fourth of July. By then the mosquitoes are in full force but they’re easy by comparison.
