I saw 77F in the sun for a few minutes this afternoon, was hauling up some uglies to keep the boiler going. It felt hot to me, I will confess to being a bit jealous of Rope 's weather forecasts. Yesterday was mid 60's & about as good as it gets, today was a bit much. Nice tomorrow, then cold & rain, blech. Hodgepodge of stuff in the boiler.
28 and 76, just reloaded with KD and bricks. Old man winter isn’t done with us yet. It’s snowing hard and everywhere I look it’s white with 3-4” possible by tonight, then more tomorrow night. Feels and looks like February. We did have a great weekend with temperatures into the 50’s. I was able to work in the part of the garden without snow on it and actually ended up putting some seeds in. They’re covered with plywood until the snow passes so I think they’ll be ok. It did wonders for my cabin fever!
48* heading to 79* this afternoon. Still have a couple loads of wood inside but NG furnace is off. Haven't had a fire for about a week.
43F at 750 AM here. Heading for 75F today and mid 60's tomorrow. Heck with the stove. Grabbing fishing rods and a cooler now. I gone I'll re-light Wed. for the rest of the week. Gotta take advantage of these warm days!
It amazes me how much difference there can be between your place and ours. We did not get a lot of sun yesterday but if we had, we may have broken 80. As it was, we hit 70.
Hey schlot and Grizzly Adam !Hope you two haven't gotten overconfident and put your snow shovels away yet! Looks like close to two feet for your area!
Nice 41 heading to 51, spruce on the overnight fire. Have 3 more bellies to slice, smoked 4 yesterday. Mom made some homemade jalapeño-cheddar bagels. Have me a keeper, made a samich for lunch, gives a slicing break.
40s here and soggy. Rained off and on all day, so the stove has stayed warm to keep the chill away. I'm into some pine that was under a rip in the tarp.. I know it's wet by the weight and the sound, but with a pulled back I'm not cutting my dry 24" splits down to length for a few days yet, and the next couple years' wood is uncovered for now - no better. Working with this half seasoned wood is a nightmare. I now COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND why people give up on wood burning when they start their burning career with wet wood! Rope - what do you use for smoker wood up your way? Haven't seen any of the usual suspects in any of your posts. Hickory, cherry, apple, oak, maple, etc. Drooling over the bacon!
I have a Bradley smoker and Traeger pellet grill. Most likely I have only post led smoked meat in that forum.
Thanks Rope , now I'm hungry again. 57F here still at 9:30PM. Going down in the 40's with one more nice day tomorrow. Then the rain/snow/wind, whatever shows up. Got some "stuff" keeping the boiler warm.
24 and 78. We have 4” of now frozen slop on the ground from yesterday with more on the way tonight. Daytime high should be 50 but we’ll be lucky to get above freezing. It’s getting old
