Loaded up before bed LN, was about 38* outside this AM, blower was still on and nice big coals still going 72 inside........didn't reload before work, headed up to 66 today and lows in the mid 40's rest of the week. I may stop burning as well unless we get another cold front. I've dipped into next years stash pretty good already. I need to get more shoulder season wood for next burning season.
Just gave in and lit a fire in the stove. Sunny and looks nice outside but it is windy so 40 degrees feels sort of cold now.
Partly cloudy skies. About 45 out. Chaz stoked up the stove this morning and I am glad he did. The power has been out for a little over an hour. Might be back on in another hour. Having pretty steady winds of around 20 mph. Well it is now 3:15 amd power just came back on. Just 3 hrs. Wasn't worried. My portable o2 holds a 10 hr charge. Plus we have a generator direct wired to the house. All is good.
Heavy winds here too, power might go out! 46°F has got the snow continuing to melt. Will get a fire going before bed, low 20s overnight with some more snow.
Wind here in the Berks, too. Mrs Papi was chilly after my morning fill spent itself, so we're at 75 indoors on some more white pine. Good thing everybody gives this stuff away, 'cause the way she goes through it it's like she thinks it grows on trees! Happy wife, happy life. Especially when she's carrying #3 and chasing a two year old. I dare say she's earned the right to be as warm as she wants! I'll just smile, be thankful, and keep doing my job. Mo' wood!
85 daytime 74 night time....sorry guys been in key west for the last 7 days. Hope my place is still where I left it. Sitting in Miami airport right now...
Got me there. Before I read the rest of your post. 85* in OH. I need to move to your neck of the woods.
Good Evening, 43 here and will have no fire tonight as the wind is gusting to 30mph+. I lost the net for 10 minutes as I was about to post due to the power flickering. Thousands without power already in NH.
51° now, going to 34° overnight. I just lit a fir fire. I'll keep it going tomorrow after having a fire going overnight last night and letting it go out this am. There will be sporadic fires going over the next few days.
Back below freezing right now, 28 but we're heading for 14. That'll get that melting snow that's draining over the roads to turn nice and hard by morning!!! Sun was out for awhile today.
43F here & the wind finally died off some. Got to the mid 50's but with 30mph winds didn't feel that warm. Still burning one load of Oak a day. I'll keep the boiler going for a bit yet. Supposed to be 60's this weekend.
I cannot believe we still have power! (Knock on wood) Winds must be gusting 60mph- what a mess. Put together a small fire, blizzard conditions outside. Cringing as I lay in bed hearing the wind gusts coming from a distance. I swear the grill lifted off the deck at one point.
We were blustery as well, but not that bad! But I have some tarp rearranging to do. 37° here and sunny, but with the leftover breeze it will be a cool day. I'm still doing morning fires to warm up the basement.
Don't know how cold it got, but at 17 1/2 hour ago. The sun is trying it's best but the hazy overcast skies are winning that struggle.
Surprised it’s zero with the warmth we have had lately, but it’s April after all. Spruce beating the cold away.
40 here. Fire going in stove. Did not have the stove going overnight as it was plenty warm in here by bedtime. 64 when we got up. It did not take long to light a fire in the stove! It's cloudy and chilly out there. Rain and maybe some freezing rain or snow could be mixed in tonight or tomorrow. Then it is supposed to warm up over the weekend with 60's. That will feel nice.
38* 69* chilly today tomorrow up to the mid 50's. Found some Ash that's ready so I can save the rest of the black locust for next season.
