Not too chilly overnight, slowly dropped to -8 c or 18 f but should see it hit upwards of +10 c or ballpark 51 f later today. The last couple of days we've kept nice and warm using about 1 or 1.25 cubic ft of wood per 24 hours. So nice to go to bed hot and wake up warm!
Whoa. That really sounds great and we are hoping some of that moves this way. We'd be happy to see 50's and 60's for sure.
Been 40ºF outside all morning. No sun, no solar gain. Have been burning pine and maple this morning. 4 small splits of pine on top of not many coals left to get the two or three splits of maple on top of them going and the stove top back up to about 400ºF and then let that burn right down to almost nothing again.
Only a few inches.. Dads camp halfway between myself and Well Seasoned got 3 feet on ground plus 20" of fresh today..
50 degrees now. Hitting 22 tonight. Gonna load up some sugar maple here once the sun starts going down.
We got hammered with a foot snow today, in about 8 hours and it's still coming down. Had to be careful plowing since the thaw this past week, but did ok. Broke the winch cable on the grizzly down the road, was a quick fix though. During my service route today, tractors trailers stuck on any and every hill on the interstates. Cars off the road everywhere- super slick stuff. Current temp 33°F only heading to around 30°F overnight while this cold front pushes through. Winds will get strong overnight and fully expect to lose power because the tree branches are really leaning with the weight of the snow. I cleared the snow from the chicken run since it's so heavy.
Looking back, it felt like it flew by, but during, I lacked sun, which can make you feel kinda crappy.
