You won’t find me moving to Florida. Ever.

But, I did have a chance to see the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia when I lived there for about six months.

I could see myself going there for three to four months from December 1 through April 1 after I retire. If I could afford to rent a place down there for 4 months a year.

Was a beautiful day today, and we have doubled the amount of daylight since winter solstice. J my 8 year old and I went and got a load of spruce. This is my sale where we have to cross the Tanana River over the ice road.

We cut two trees, was a good day, he learned how to aim a tree when felling. We used a Humbolt undercut, and left a 1 1/2 hindge to steer the tree, was a bullseye. He learned a lot worked hard, got him some ice cream for his efforts. Dryers was on sale 2@8 so he chose 2 and everyone lived happily ever after.

We are supposed to get snow as the forecasters are beating the gloom and doom drum all week.....not even a flake has shown up yet. It's only 4 hours late-so far. Wonder if it'll come at all? But I'm not waiting for it either!

    32° snow, ice, rain whatever.

    Burning pine and black walnut.

I'll need to bring up a load of better woods for holding a fire overnight better. I'll save the walnut for the last partial load for the night.

Radar shows clouds that have moved in from the south, but they aren't dropping anything.

Even though I'm only about an hour away from you to the northeast, we only got to 38* yesterday and had some melting along the roads. The snow in the yard and woods stayed as powder and didn't turn to corn.
