Yea, I want more days like today, it was nice out & I had to be indoors in the shop all day. Got my road to the wood yard cleaned out after work & the tractor inside warming up for tomorrow at least. Gonna be cloudy & gloomy though. 10F no wind clear & nice out now though. Another load of Oak in the boiler.

3 here, supposed to get down to -1. last night of negative temps for a while according to the weather guessers. 30s coming, good time to clean the chimney before the Super Bowl! Sugar maple going in the IS this evening once the coals burn down some.

0°F / -18°C stiff east breeze. Snow is forecast, but may slide north of me. I'm a little low on wood in the house tonight, so it's oil and kilowatts until noon.

0 here loaded up with yellow birch. You know when you spoiled your daughter when she say dad it’s only 68 in the house I’m cold. I said to her that most people keep there homes around that or less. Then she replies they burn oil we burn wood.

Todays high is 38*, which is as warm as its been for a while. I really ate through some wood this week, all white oak too.

50’s and 60’s this coming week!!

Today my wife and I are going to Ruth Chris’s for dinner.... its a big day for me, 365 days since I touched a tobacco product after 20+yrs of regular usage... big change for me. Her father passed away September of 2017 in his really early 60’s from a heart attack, ans he lived a somewhat healthy lifestyle with no tobacco use, so it woke me up...

6° now, headed to the high 20's anyway. Still burning oak, but will switch back to red maple as temps get milder. I had pretty good success with the frozen splitting, so I think I'll continue. IMG_20190201_48559.jpg

8° currently, headed up to mid 20's°. Slept in a bit, but still woke to some nice coals from some big ole Oak splits.

68° inside but not for long, reload of oak and pine. Milder tomorrow, mid to upper 40's going to try and clean the liner for the 1st time.

    Have a great weekend hoarders!!!

7 degrees on the positive here this am. Headed for a high of 33 which will feel great. Lot better than -38 below the other morning. Definitely went through some wood this week for sure. Be a good day to get some wood back in house and shop.

Get outside and enjoy the weekend!

    Supposed to hit 36
Woke up to cool house. Just barely enough coals to get refired.
Plugged in the electric chainsaw and cut up some longs as I was waiting to shut the ashpan door when up to temp.
Got about 2 weeks of wood left in wood room and about 6 weeks left in shed. That will end my 28 year burning career at this place . Been mulling over the pros/cons of moving to the new place for the last week. After almost 30 years at one place I have everything exactly like I want . Now I have to start over !

What a difference a day makes. Temp stayed on the positive side of zero last night. Only down to 5. In the 30's now.

And a big difference outdoors. When you go out you don't feel that harsh cold on your face. Love it!
