After a cool -38f this am. We warmed to a daytime high of -6f Headed for a day of temps on the positive tomorrow. 30ish sat. And even warmer sun. With a chance of rain. Crazy
Was 3ºF this morning, the 14ºF is the current temp and the high for the day. Dunno what the 32/8 in the graphic is all about . Maybe those are the temps at the local airport asphalt - the ones they use to document global warming. Thought I'd shake things up by bringing in a few baskets of red maple to burn today. It sure does ignite quick on a deep bed of red oak coals.
We were 21f yesterday morning and 23f this morning. Pretty chilly. And burning as much white oak as I pull out of my pile, which is 98% oak anyway. Also burned some persimmon last night and this morning
Eh, maybe just over a foot. Ares west of here got a bit more. Friend of mine in Hamilton measured 18" on the flat. Hard to get a good measurement with all the wind. I've some 3' drifts in places. Just another snow event.
Well I got a full 24hr burn from the load of Red Oak last night. Woke this morning to -8*F house at a comfortable 70*. Loaded another big load of Oak tonight. Stay warm everyone!
Yep, most are closed tomorrow as well. Roads are decent now, but the windchill is their excuse. Bunch of pansies if you ask me. I'll give em Tuesday & Yesterday as visibility was an issue. Today wasn't too bad I didn't think. Road commission keeps slinging salt that just melts & re freezes to make slick ice. Not sure why sand is so difficult to figure out. No shortage of it around here. -3F here, light wind & clear. Not bad at all. Oak in the boiler.
Blip of warm? We're sitting at -14 C or 6 F (bit of wind on top) now and probably the same earlier. Short lived mind you, but nice just the same. Almost 78 f indoors.
