We had 12 degrees here this morning, we still had plenty of coals from that dead Elm I loaded at 10 pm last night, loaded the liberty up with some Beech and Cherry this morning at 7.
No kidding. It was warmer here this morning. I guess it was about 22 or so at 6. Warming up steady. Right around 31 right now. Ash and a little Pine burning.
Supposed to be almost 70 here on Tuesday or Wednesday. Our stack needs the break..lol.. Then Wednesday night it's off to my parents house in the town of North East, Pa which currently has over 2 feet of snow from the same system buffalo had.
It's almost 35 here now. A little Ash and Pine going in the boiler. Softwood Pellets going in the stove back here at camp. I am going to try to do a little work in the woods tomorrow. Should be 40s.
It's in the high 30's here, we just started up the Pellet Stove. We went without a fire last night so I could take some ashes out today. We're still burning some chit wood I had stacked last fall, it's what I call so so wood, it does have some nice Cherry,Beech with some dead Elm that is past it's prime.
In the high 50's here today and got a lot done. In the mid 40's now with some smaller ash splits and the last of my ugly pile for this year. My goodness it's hot in here..lol..
56º here, 77º inside from about 3 small splits at 8 a.m. No fire tonight or tomorrow until evening. After work I think I'll take advantage of the warm spell and drop the cat shield, have a look and run a brush down the liner just for general purposes.
Low 50's today, burning birch and forgot to turn down the air intake and got the front rooms up to 86º. I had a good reason for forgetting. My neighbor dropped by with a load of wood. He's a landscaper, and had some locust, sugar maple, and oak that he had in a burn pile for a long time that he wanted to unload. Got a good deal on some seasoned wood, should help me get through this first year burning.
52 here this morning and raining pretty hard. Wind blowing off and on pretty hard as well. Ash splits and chunks and uglies also.
It's already 60 with a high of near 70 today. Heading up to the great white north Wednesday night for thanksgiving so I may be done till Saturday when we get home. The stacks could use the break.
High of 65 so my morning load to take the chill off for today, BUT this means I'll be burning and shoveling SOON: http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/east-on-alert-for-storm-to-dis/37800439
Temps dropped from 65º to 50º in the last hour. Went up on the roof with the brush and rods, not even anything on the screen so I didn't bother cutting the wire ties off the rods just put the ladder away. I'm still going to drop the cat shield to check for fly ash and then probably get a fire burning, heading into the 30's tonight.
40 degrees and wind this morning. Ash and a little Pine burning. We have gotten a lot of wind in the last 24 hours. I turned the boiler off before I went to bed last night. When I installed the chimney the kit came with two adjustable rods for bracing back to the roof. I installed those and then installed two metal straps from the facia to the chimney for extra wind support. Both of those straps are broken this morning. Rods are still holding.
