Sub zero Fahrenheit coming this weekend. Saving my well seasoned for it. Can’t wait! I so much enjoy reloading the boiler and coming back inside to cheap heat on the cold days.

-12c/10.5f. Ive been burning lodgepole and doug fir all day even though the house has been empty and weve all been away at work and school. I should grab some larch from the stacks outside but feeling lazy so Ill load up shortly with pine and doug fir which is a hands reach from the stove. Ill sort things out after work tomorrow at 1 pm. I have a stack of red cedar which is hero wood for kindling splitting. Makes for an easy fire start up when the stove is still drafting.

image.jpg image.jpg Fell asleep before the bedtime reload, so time to feed the stove.

23 OAT and 75 inside on coals. It might hit 30 by noon then the wind is supposed to pick up and usher in the polar front for the next week or so. We’re bracing for the weekend. Over a foot predicted for all of Maine and most of NH through Sunday evening then well below zero by Monday morning. They’re still talking about sleet and freezing rain mixing in near the coast despite temperatures in the teens and low 20’s so it’s gonna be a long nasty event either way. Better get to the grocery store today if you live up this way lol. They’ll be cleaned out in a couple days. :picard:

Misting rain and temp hovering around freezing with slide offs common in the area north of us(according to Indy tv). The new pups slept until we got up at 6 and are napping now. Hickory in both the family room and shop stoves. 15476437837591962985776949405361.jpg
