It’s about 50 with a little wind. Burning a little maple inside and kingsford on the outside. Trying out my new Weber master touch ho ho brought me on a butt roast!

You are correct. Last year on 12/28 the high was 12 and the low -6. Certainly a lot different this year.

Not going to get above the freezing mark today but it's not bad out there. Sure could go for some sunshine though.

-19 below this am. With a fresh foot of snow. Warming into single digits this afternoon. Here in central MN. Burning ash and red oak. Keeping family toasty.

We hit 50° while I was cutting this morning, no jacket needed. Still 45° but quite windy. I cut everything that needed to be cut, except a chunk of hemlock I picked up at the dump when I got rid of my sawdust. Tomorrow I'll move it to the back yard (except the locust), IMG_20181229_38.jpg and I'll have a nice empty space for future scrounges.

It never fails to amaze me how different our climates are, between extreme north and south NH.

The main roads are mostly ok now, everywhere else, just sanded, some heavy sanding, some none- washed away & froze! Ice was 1"+ thick on the deck..... 3" on the roads! There was some buildup on the trees, but temps climbed fast enough to prevent any significant buildup. Below freezing temps are back for a bit, so it should be nice & chitty for awhile. :D

We used to use a chimney but we have since switched to an electric. He basically put a few coals down then sets the starter on top and a few coals on top and plugs it in. I think it takes about 10 min. to get the coals going then he pulls it out. Give it a little bit longer and let the cooking begin.

Looks like you have more snow down in TX than we have up here in WI. This past Wed thru Fri we had close to an inch of rain.

Finally! Down to 29F, hopefully the ground firms up so I can get some work done tomorrow. Supposed to be a bit more like winter for the next few days, we'll see. Still burning Silver Maple.

It’s warmed up to -9 from -24 this morning when I left for work. Cut a load of spruce before leaving AE003D42-7535-4CD6-A643-0AE1FD966DF5.png 1530E6C5-D24B-4FFE-AB36-926CECBC09D0.jpeg
