image.jpg image.jpg Cold as she gonna get tonight I think, unless the forecast changes again...might be coldest temp so far or runner up. I keep throwing poplar at the stove, and it keeps eating!

26 and snow but should be a rainy mess by around 10. Still burning down the coals and it’s 76 inside. Got a mixed KD load ready to go once I shovel a little ash in an hour or so.

32° and icy on the roads this morning. I talked my husband into waiting an hour or two before leaving for work, to let the warm rain do its stuff. May get to 50° later, we'll see if I can sneak in any outside work. The dump is getting all clogged up with Christmas trees. Still chomping through the red maple, a good fuel for temps in the 30's-40's.

Let the wood beast burn down last night. Quick rake and clean out this morning threw some maple on coals and she’s off! Hopefully the rain doesn’t last all day.

30 here, we got a dusting, and then it turned to light rain which is freezing to the roads with the snow. The cold is in the roads so lots of black ice. But in a positive note, the ground has been frozen solid for a while, so we didn't have the mud issues that I read many others have.

I really enjoyed the snow pics that Duvekot posted last week and I miss the snow. So I'll post some pics of my place a few years back when we traveled by trails to the many cords of heat buried under the snow somewhere to the left in the last pic. Enjoy! For you folks down south, Imagine having dropped and bucked a couple of trees out back in the woods, as I do have now that needs to be hauled out. If we get snow like this and it lasts and doesn't melt till April. I can't even find my wood, never mind get to it. But I love every minute of it. No mosquitoes. Life in the north woods.

Got down to 16 °F but it's up to 20.7 °F currently. If we're posting snow pics of our area I've got one IMG_4840.JPG . So far this year no snow to speak of :(

36 degrees outside now and the light rain continues. We have gotten close to an inch of rain already in the past couple days. Supposed to get a bit colder and transition over to snow but it won't amount to much.
Hope the roads stay nice today and this evening so my wife and I can go out and celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.

Congratulations! We are at 45 years ourselves. When you have a good stacker, keep her. I did.

Back in the day she was the good wood stacker. She can't do that kind of outdoor work much anymore but since I am retired, I have the time to do it. She keeps me well fed and the house looking nice.:yes::salute:
