Whatever funky cold pocket we were stuck in, blew out with the new bizarre weather that rolled in. We're at/just above freezing now, had some rain, some ice pellets, and wow there was some wind last night! I have little faith in forecasts, so when it says it's going to warm up I have a hard time believing it will. We'll just say the temp in here dropped to 70 F by morning...thought I was going to die as that's about 10-14 f higher than normal wake up for this time of year. I think it won't last long though we should be back to cold in a day.

Temperature stayed at 40 all night. 39 now so finally starting to go down. Hope it freezes back up so I can keep working in the woods.

No fire overnight. Finally got the temperature up to 79 in here. Ah!

Woke up to 48 and rain. Should be a high of 51 and sitting at 50. Temps will be dropping and could get about an inch of snow tomorrow.

All the soft snow and standing water puddles have turned hard and it is very slippery out there today!

Heavy rain today with heavy fog. Flooding with ice dams expected. Ground frozen solid, streams everywhere including the chicken run.

I'll go down and bring up pallets in the am. Drop down some hay on that. It's 8" deep at the one spot. The trail through the snow over the past 2 months was the path of least resistance for snow melt along with heavy rain. Stream running straight through. Uggg

Been raining AGAIN - this will make 6 weekends in a row.
Rain blowing out with stiff NW winds and dropping into 20's tonight.
White oak load cruising after letting the stove go cold the past week.

Good luck Well Seasoned! It’s been nasty out there today but hopefully we’ll see the end of it soon. Supposed to be around 3am here for the rain to end. We’ve been fortunate so far, hope things don’t get any worse for ya.
Oh yeah...it’s 49 OAT and raining and foggy as can be. I let the fire go out this morning and cleaned the cat. About 4 it had dropped to 75 in the stove room and nana said she needed a little more heat. A little pine and some uglies going around 400 STT and it’s 80 now. I’m gonna put 2-3 decent splits in for the night and hope it’s almost out in the morning lol. At least the bedroom is still 66.

Just below freezing here, and dying of heat inside. I suppose there's worse things in life. Should drop to -9 C or 16 F tonight with some wind to go with that.

Mid 30's & a little rain today with a stiff NW wind. Very uncomfortable. 31 now with some flurries. Ground is mush & forecast is for mid 30's daytime & upper 20's overnight for several days. Cloudy & crappy winter weather. I really want 20 & sun. Loaded some more Silver Maple in the boiler. Picked a good year to put that thing in. This weather was really tough to regulate temps inside with the old furnace.
