8 feels like -2 OAT 74 inside, one pine split on the coals this morning burning them down and throwing a bunch of heat. Looking forward to the heat wave starting tomorrow afternoon. We haven’t seen 40 in awhile. No precipitation either and I’m good with that!

29 this morning, few splits of oak on a nice bed of hot hot coals to get the house temps up. Loaded her up before work with some maple and oak!

Mild front coming in tomorrow, supposed to be in the mid 50's this weekend and rain. Think I'll shut her down this & save my dry wood for colder weather.

Weird night here, weather was decent until about 4 am and then a blip of chilly rolled in. Currently -11 C feels -15 C or 12 F feels 5 F. Should make it to just below freezing for a high (just like yesterday). Poplar in the reactor.

Overcast again but this time on the + side of 30! Gonna take advantage and wash the vehicles as soon as the slop on the roads dries up.

Forcast again for mostly sunny. Clouds way to thick to see any sunshine. A skiff of snow overnight but it melted. Temp 37.

Warm here too, relatively. 32F going down a bit then back up overnight they say. Supposed to get a little rain as well. I could do without that. Supposed to be partly sunny & 40's for the weekend. Good wood weather. Boiler loaded with Silver Maple again. At this rate I'm gonna run out of the lesser woods & have to burn my Oak in the Spring.

Ended up getting a bit of snow this evening....not enough to be called a dusting as it was less than an inch. Just enough to accumulate on the roads and get slippery at intersections.

Low of 42 tonight. Hope the boiler stays lit. If it doesn't 20 seconds with the torch fixes it right up.

I haven't checked in here in a while, it's been single digits and low teens for a week or ten days or so with highs around 30 ish. The result is a lot of burning 24/7, no snow as of late. We've got good hard, clear ice on the lakes and ponds, about 4+ inches and folks are getting out ice fishing. I'd love to get some skating in, but my work scheduele doesn't leave me much time for that. Maybe a Christmas miracle will give me a window to get out on the ice before the snows come.

Mild weather rolled in today, hanging a few degrees below freezing and supposed to drop slowly overnight to -8 C or 18 F by morning. Hard to run a long burn with it starting out so mild. Guess I'll make a half arse fire before bed and feed it a few sticks early morning or just sleep and wake to a chilly shack.

We are at -1c right now. Ive spent lots of time in the last few days shoveling snow. It looks like a very mild week for us here in the southern Canadian Rockies with temps a bit above freezing for highs. Its hard to do lots of burning when youre hovering around freezing so Im saving my good wood and just burning when I get the urge which is mostly in the evening. Id rather throw some pine in overnight and pick things up sometime the next day then use my good wood.

26 this morning, headed for the upper 30’s for a change. We can use a little warmup. Opened the draft about 5 and working on burning the coals down.
