23F & dropping here, very light snow falling, but not amounting to much. No wind, really nice night. Headed out to load the boiler with Oak & Silver Maple.

Ha! 30 degrees here. Only got down to 26 overnight. Was going to shove some snow yesterday but it is so packy that it is a mess. Side roads are a real mess with ice under snow. They did not plow the roads for the first 24 hours so they are terrible. But, that won't last. It is still early in the season here.

Never did end up getting any crazy weather (yet?), just a little bit of snow with some gusting wind. Pretty sure those guys down in south Sask. had rain. Temps hanging around -9 C feels -16 C or 15 F feels 4 F. Light snow falling and poplar in the reactor.

About 30 out and 76 in. Got up to a fluffy couple of inches. Light steady snow falling. Should be a couple more inches. We do have a travel advisory on. But they did not cancel school. Haven't heard or seen plows and Chaz said no issue getting out of driveway so didn't bother to plow.

Right where I want to be.
A couple/few days ago, "they" were calling for either 6-8" or 8-10, then the forecast kept changing to smaller amounts. We finally ended up with barely a dusting.
Yesterday through today we were supposed to get another 2-4", but that looks like it's still out in Minnesota. Long term forecast says we'll have a fairly mild winter, but I'm not holding my breath.
Anyway, we're at IAT of about 70 and OAT of 29. I've been going out to the shed and resplitting splits into 3-4 smaller pieces and making a log-cabin fire during the day. Really cuts down use and keeps the house comfy. 2 medium splits works very well for that, but might need 3. Overnight fire is still a full firebox with good wood, and a nice coal bed in the morning and an IAT of 72-74 in these temps (overnights in the low-mid 20s).
Furnace gets run ( one to 2 cycles) to bring temp up before bed. This has been working well, but it hasn't gotten below about 16 so far.

Went to Port Huron today. No snow at all there. Stopped on way home to a friend's house where he claimed they got 6" but they have no more than we do. Just as nasty there as here though.

They did plow our road again so it is pretty good now.

74 degrees and sunny today, very nice day. Maybe build a fire in the outdoor unit.
