I agree. I do this sometimes just to make myself feel better even when I know that logic tells me that I dont need to. Ill likely do a scrub a week or so before Christmas.

Jeez thats rough. Sorry to hear about your wifes dog, poor little thing didnt ask for that. A friend of mine was walking in town with his dog last week when a townie Muley buck sauntered past them and then turned around and came back after them. The dog was off leash but on heel from what I understand. The buck impaled the dog killing it.

I'm burning rum today. I have been burning rum the last few days. I'll keep it that way. It's still 74° at 10 pm Hawaiian time.

When I get home, I'll find some wood to burn. Probably Siberian elm and sugar maple. But it could be something else. We'll see.

It's a brisk 17 outside. Snow and ice supposed to move in tonight and tomorrow. Boiler appears to be cycling at the moment, although its hard to tell based on the lack of smoke coming out of the chimney.

I didn't forget, although my coffee hasn't soaked in yet so I'm not at peak capacity. Just haven't made it out there to check things out yet.

We're extremely lucky in that we planned this trip so many months ago. The morning we flew out of Milwaukee was our first snow that stuck for the season. Apparently it's been cold back home the whole time we've been gone. Here on Maui, it's been a low of like 72, with every day being mid to upper 80's.

Currently sitting at -8 C or 18 F, and heading above freezing later this afternoon. I'd rather it stay a few degrees below, as it makes banking the trailer skirting a bear with jagged ice snow beneath fresh stuff. Stove eating poplar and siberian elm uglies. Also worthy of mention, the oil furnace has only been ran 3 times this fall, once to make sure it still worked :Dback in September and a couple times in October.
