I don’t know what it may mean, but the temperature was in the 80’s today. There was a good rain shower this afternoon and the ran was cold. I think summer rains are gone even on warm days.

It’s 42 outside and was 64 inside so I started a fire about 5 am. Ought to keep momma warm while I’m at the WS open house today. Can’t wait!

Its starting to cool down in the PNW, so, when i get up around 3 or 4 am i start a small fire with just the stuff i've trimmed off my wood, or some bark, or occasional smaller chunks of wood that i can't actually stack. I use the bags that we get when we buy groceries, put some of it in the bags. Then , if i want to start a fire, i just grab a bag, and light it off in the stove. Works great for a small , fast way to start a little fire. I'll toss a small chunk of pitch in the middle of it to help it along a little bit. I've had like 6-8 bags in my wheel borrow and it works really good. You don't spread any junk in the house, its all in the bag.

Very similar to what we do...I save the shredded paper from bills, put it in a small sack, a couple pieces of pitch pine and some kindling from pallet slats and fire it up.

Rainy cool crap weather so far this weekend but did get some kinalin split up yesterday under the tent.:coldone: Most of it is for the ol' gal across the road as usually when I start the stove it keeps cruising till spring. :salute:

Took me 20 years  but just found out it is way easier and quicker to split cedar rails with the hydro. :coffee:

Yuck! That's what we're supposed to get tomorrow through Wednesday. Been mid 50's & rain all weekend with an East wind. Pretty lousy Fall weather. I do have to say that after heating with a wood furnace for over a decade, that the boiler is really nice. I almost forgot how handy a thermostat is. Load a couple logs once a day & forget it.

Yup. Actually, we had some flurries/squalls on Thu and then a little (very little) accumulation overnight for Fri morning. We took off for the weekend and ran into the same evidence of overnight snow for about 1 1/2 hours driving.

I'm willing to trade some weather!

We were at the casino this past summer down there by you. Also, went to some county fair about 30-40 minutes away....to the east I think.

Some misty rain this morning again, hopefully it stops so I can go to a friends lot and go cut some wood and split, he called me yesterday and told me he has about 20 cords of logs that I can have. I'll take pics when I get there hopefully today. What's good it's close to home..

42 and wet outside. Wet today, tonight, tomorrow. Then repeat. Lows in upper 20's; highs in lower 40's.

Right where I want to be.
Well, here we go.........snow in the forecast for Friday. Today and the next two in the 70's.
Time to put away the garden hose, I guess. Wife uses it to refill water for the chickens.
I've got a trailer full of pine rounds needing to be split too. If the rain will stop, that'll be a priority.
