This year I have a mix of hardwood. I got most of the wood from a coworker that built a horse paddock for his wife. The basement is currently empty, I’ll be loading up shortly I’ll take some pics.

Next few days look nice enough to keep the moose on the meat pole for more aging. 110A3BB7-2924-42D5-8214-94C20D0479A4.png

Currently sitting at 4 C or 39 F and sunny, and should see 12 C or 54 F, which isn't to far off from normal daytime weather.

So true, I can wait. Low 40's and rainy and raw. I have 2 doors and 3 windows open, my wife said it is a little cool in here. So I closed the 2 doors, the windows are still open.:) Soon enough, the low 40's will be a heat wave.

Aaaahhhh, first fire of the season! It's cool out, with wind & rain. Had the pellet going but figured, meh- lets do a fire! That smell of hot iron from a first fire is in the air. Can you smell it?

That's my kinda forecast there Rope . Looks coolish here for the next 5-7 days, so I think I'm finally gonna touch off the new boiler tomorrow. 40's & 60's they say with wind. I'm guessing radiant heat from the exchangers will be enough without even turning up the stats. We'll see.

Wife will be out of the house tomorrow so it will be a good day to have a first fire in our new insert. Got to break it in slowly and have doors and windows open.
