92f today. Went to a big dove shoot. They fed us a great lunch set out all 50+ shooters. I drank half a gallon of water between about 3ish to 6ish. Killed 11 doves. Didn't limit out but killed enough. Had a good time. Was a bit warm out there in the sun though.

80° and a nice breeze here. It's not as horrible as they said it would be, with a heat index in the 100's.

Temperature finally in the 60's! It is very welcome. Now we just need the humidity to drop and all will be well with the weather.

I had socks that needed drying.
That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.

I got word today that I'm heading out on an emergency breakdown call tomorrow. There's a dead exploratory track drill on a claim up north - Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut. I put a dot on the map roughly where it is. I fly commercial from Edmonton to Yellowknife in the morning. From there they're chartering a plane to fly me up to the claim site. I don't know how much THIS is going to cost them, but dang....they must be pretty desperate to get this thing running. Daytime highs are apparently +5C (41F) with night time lows of -20C (-4F). No trees to burn. :( This isn't an established mine. More of a temporary exploration camp. I get the impression that it's satellite phones and smoke signals. If by some chance there's internet that I can use freely (doubt it), I'll post some pics. If not, I'll put some up when I get back. Cheers ! :)

Yesterday I tarped my portable shoulder wood bins and stacked them against a storage container to keep the rain off of them. Some forecasts have up to 7" of rain coming our way. Tarped my heaphausen last night. It will be go time soon .
