Man I would love some of that rain. The three year plan around here would get a heavy frown from insurance companies and bylaw officers. I went to work today and choked my way through a heavy smoke. Firefighters were doing a back burn to keep the closest fire away from structures. Its at least 12 km away so we are good here in town. My wood supply for the upcoming season is down but what can I do? Things arent dire but it makes you think twice about running a chainsaw or lighting a match.

Might be a little cooler fall here compared to normal, or maybe I'm just firing up the stove earlier than normal...who knows.:D

That will get your attention, wont it?

Years ago I was standing in the repair bay at work watching a storm when lightning hit the house directly across the street from me. Scared the poop out a me! Same when it hit the pole in front of my house about 10 years ago.

Had to close windows last night. Woke up at 2 AM freezing. I think it was 58 in the house. Already down to 59ºF outside tonight.
I don't think any of the windows have been closed since the beginning of June.

Were getting cool as well. Im feeling the urge to light a match to the stove since the furnace is kicking in daily but Ill be flogged in public for doing so lol. I can wait a bit for the forest fire issue to subside. I dont think Im even allowed to cook a steak over apple wood in the back yard right now.

Fie! I know you’re itching to do that! Bbq’d chicken last night and had a funny feeling about you wanting to bbq some apple. You’re definitely in need of a good rain...

Out in the boat yesterday. Was in the lows 90s. Supposedly it was heat index over 100. But real temp is all that matters. There was a cool breeze and it felt cool getting out of the water. Getting back in the water felt warm and good.

Thankfully it has not been as hot as predicted...so far. 82 predicted today. But with the dewpoint and humidity so high it is very uncomfortable.

Heat has been relentless here with no break. First time in about 8 years I've put the AC in.
    Looking forward to fall.

Another fire again last night, temps apparently dropped somewhere around/below 5 C or 40 F.
