I'll give you 30*F...that would take me down to 60* and put you at 57*....deal? Just PM me your address and I'll get it in the mail.
Now that is a deal. Just one issue, it usually takes 2 weeks for mail to get here from the US, by time it gets here I probably won't need it. 90F is what I consider a nice day in summer. But I do like and am used to the heat, I suppose it comes from working in a warm environment. At work we run big industrial AC units all year round while in production and only on cold nights like this do I turn them off. On a night like this it would still be >70F in production with the AC running, but walk down to the warehouse and it will be 27-30F I'm glad I don't work down there. I've had a fire for three days now. Nice out now, but mornings been chilly, about 35 or so. I'm hoping the temps will climb back up there for a couple more weeks. I wanted to see how long I could burn a load of lodgepole in the new AS. Burned coals down, and loaded to the max at 2200 last night. Turned up air to max at 0800, and this afternoon at 1300 ,I still had enough coals and a warm stove. Burned as long as the princess. Kinda surprised me. Not hot enough to burn fir yet.
I still laugh looking at the title of this thread: Colder here... Wish it was colder here. Presently 86 with dewpoint of 73 and humidity at 70%. Just awful, but at least it did not get as hot today as forecast. Looks like we're in for more rain tonight. We've been getting lots of rain lately but not as bad as some folks for sure.
Had fire 3 of the last 4 days (or was it 4 fires?). In any event, it feels nice even if they're only comfort fires. Current temp is 11 C or 51 F
That is hard to imagine! Don't think I've ever seen the dewpoint higher than 75. Must be hard even breathing in that.
Sickening heat wave this week, heat advisory in effect. Dewpoint in the mid 70's, heat indext 100 - 105. Friday I think it ends with a high of only 79 Phew.....!
Admittedly, that 83 is about as high as I've seen on my instrument. (Heck, that's why I reported it.) My eyeglasses fogged when I stepped outside. Keep in mind that DP is one of the hardest readings for an electronic instrument to get accurately. But, I think mine is correct because: -BWI briefly had a DP of 77 - My station is located only about 1000 ft from tidewater, at elevation 100 - My wooded site is the most humid place I've ever lived; down in a bit of a hole. Even walking the dog up to the open part of our neighborhood, I can feel the air dry a little. And I remember my (Canadian) father tell about the day he first came to Washington DC in 1954. Stepped off an airplane and said "how do they breathe here?" Ha! I notice BWI reporting 91/74 currently.
If the dewpoint is that bad again n your glasses steam up.....go out the door backwards n they wont....I had this proven to me!
