Wow, what a nasty cold storm. What's left of my hair and that snow have a lot in common. It's my birthday and I think I'll be spending it sitting in this chair watching the birds.
View of my snow covered garage as seen out the window by my chair.

    Happy B day Save$!!

343- Holy Crap! That OAK is crazy! My basement is about 80° from the wood eater. Here are the OAK's from the Fahrenheit and the wood eater. Notice how the wood eater isn't sweaty at all. I think I will be painting it black as well. I think the black paint is keeping it warmer and preventing the sweat? Because the wood eater usedto last year. But since I painted it, it never has.

It's 7° here and we got a bunch of white chit. Love it!! (I'm on vacation till Monday, but me and the Wife and to get out in this stuff later. She is having Lasik eye surgery done at 5pm)

343- Does your Fahrenheit build little Dingle berries on the top baffle plates? I don't know if I have to much air? Or if it's this super cold air? Never seen them this big. 1388766830783.jpg 1388766884976.jpg 1388766979406.jpg 1388767030761.jpg 1388767179468.jpg

Couldnt agree more. Fisher cats in Manchester have very similar setup. They also do fireworks on most Fri or Sat night games-pretty good ones too

I know it is cold. It got down to -1 last night. For the first time, I just checked the oak, and It has ice on it, have not seen that yet. Monday it is supposed to get down to -5, we got about 3 inches of snow last night. I love it!

My OAK only frosts up when it gets below 10 degrees or so. Humidity in the basement is about 25-30%. The basement temp by the Fahrenheit is somewhere around 68 degrees. I have an aluminum pan under the loop in the OAK pipe that feeds into the furnace that collects the usual condensation I get. I get maybe a tablespoon of water in that pan each day.

I've seen the beehives/dingleberries on the baffle plates a few times. They'll usually fall off when I pull the cleaning rod.

I like the design of your ash pan better than mine - not just the latches, but the overall shape. Looks like yours will hold more ash than mine will.

Me thinx mine's broke 2!!

My stove has used 2 bags(stove chow) since the AM fill up. I just dumped in 2 to refill, This time I put in Cubex. I'll prolly be able to add the 3rd before bedtime! Literally hasn't idled down all day? Hopefully with the extra umph of the cubies, She'll start doing the hi/lo boogie!

Already below zero here and our hi was only 3°F. Low is supposed to be -7°F overnight! o_O

Brought in all the outside critters so they don't freeze! Wifey calls it their Florida vacation! :fire:

Happy Birthday Save$! Coldest I've seen it here in a while. It's zero with
wind chill of minus 20 something. Supposed to go down to -5 overnight.
We got slammed with snow over the past two days also but it was so cold that
it was powder. Snowblower and Jeep/plow cleaned it up effortlessly. Pellet stove
is pumping out the heat on #3 with Somersets in the hopper. 74F in here. I still feel
chilled though from being outside so much today. Tomorrow says 30F omg that
will feel like a beach day compared to right now.

Edit: I want to add something. Don't listen to the bs if someone tells you St Croix stoves don't put out heat. The right size stove for your home, proper placement, and a good pellet and yeah baby. It's now -5F outside (a little after midnight) which is the coldest it's ever been since I got this stove. Somersets on setting #3 out of #5, and it's 75 in the living room/kitchen/dining, and 68 in the master bedroom. 72 in the other two bedrooms. No other heat source is on. Stove is doing it's thang miss thang! Sorry to go OT but had to do it.
