A year ago, it was 71° and we had two cities in Illinois heavily damaged by tornadoes. It has been really cold here this week single digits. But it's warm and toasty in my house.
Yeah horrible day here a year ago. The big tornado that hit Washington passed within 5 miles of my house. I remember it all too well. I'll take the cold we have this year!! Is your town hosting a football playoff game Saturday?
For all the "Stool Guys", yep, I sort of put my butt on it, with my knees back, feet behind me, and it is just the perfect position and height to work on the stove. Otherwise, I am on my knees, and that hurts at my age. I guess stools in front of wood stoves are kinda a necessity Maybe we should start a poll thread to see how many use a stool in front of their wood stove .
Hey JRSDWS, we are nearly neighbors. I toured your city after the tornado. Absolutely a miracle no one was killed. Our MABAS Division sent people to help. I am so glad you didn't get hit. After 36 years in the fire service, I have seen a lot of devastation and grief, and I always wish that I could make things go backwards, but I can't, so all I can do is try to help people from that point forward. Sometimes it just doesn't seem enough.
