I tried this last year from Costco and at $11 for 3# (notice hashtag used for pounds, wildwest !!) I thought it was going to be poor. We both enjoy it and have become repeat buyers. Otherwise, its folgers, maxwell house, hills bros,........
My Maxwell House tastes different. It's nutty. Very nutty. It's happened before, but always a cold or allergies or sinus things to blame on the the altered taste, not this time. It Is Very Nutty! I moved from MJB Columbian years ago, might give that or another brand a try.
I've been using Community Coffee K cups for the last few years. It cost more per cup but I don't have any waste like I would with a full pot.
Coffee? Yes, please. I make coffee at home. Half a pot of Folgers Breakfast Blend. Makes life better.
I use Maxwell House half caff. Switched to it almost 6 years ago when wife was pregnant, and for some reason, I was never able to switch back. I became too sensitive to caffeine. Only one cup a day usually too.
Maxwell House Reg. mixed with Wally decaff. My own special 1/2 caff blend. Out local in town store sells the MH at either 3.99 (fairly rare) or 4.99. We buy a few when they do that.
Folgers classic roast is the staple around here. Rural King generally has it at 5.99, occasionally someone will have it for 5.49. Then I usually keep a bag of Eight O'clock for the evening pot.
Folgers for me too, both at work and home. I generally drink a large cup every morning, normally black. During the winter or on cold days, I will drink more than my one cup, but none after 3pm or I can’t sleep at night. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I share a small pot of coffee with my husband in the morning, half chocolate cappuccino flavor, half Colombian, New England brand. I can't drink more than a cup, or I get vertigo. At noon, I have one of these:
Took a trip this weekend, WWW was bringing my Hamilton Beach coffee maker out from the travel trailer for me and carafe slipped out and broke. Brought the Black and Decker back in from the garage, wow, big (disappointing) difference in taste, it's really weak and hot plate is not very hot. Probably explains why I bought colombian coffee the years I used this coffee maker. Too bad the HB one did not last longer. I got a Cuisenart for free via super saver stamps the local grocery store was running years ago, might bite the bullet $$ and go that route again.
Love my coffee, but don't like getting addicted to caffeine. My body could get used to it, but it makes me miserable. I drink my coffee on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays one mug or two at most. When on vacation it is generally everyday. We use a local roaster here and I make my own mix. ~75% decaf light roast and ~25% fully loaded - the lighter the roast the better. I normally use an Aeropress but also use a drip. We have a scale and a burr grinder as well. Sometimes I might make a mocha on our consumer grade espresso machine.
I made coffee this morning. Noon rolls around and I have a splitting headache... Two ibproufen and an hour I feel a little better. I get home and my wife asks " did you make coffee with the blue bag?" Yes I did. Its decaf... Both of us had headaches all afternoon, I felt miserable. I don't know why we even have decaf at the house. In any case we made a pot of coffee to get our fix and had a laugh about it. I also threw out the bag of decaf.
Sam Hill here! Oh great my coffee thread, where the hell have I been.... I’m drinking this stuff full time now. No more energy drinks, I literally changed that overnight and haven’t looked back. These days it’s a good cup or two depending on the strength, mostly Columbian Medium from Costco, creamer or milk too. Sometimes I grab a coffee for the afternoon too but its often iced.
