Hamers have been good this year for me. I run on setting 5 out of 6 and is on a Tstat.

Not as “clean” as a pine pellet, but the price was $100 less for 4 tons of Hamers vs lacrete.

Good thread, good info.If I remember my high school right, the clinkers/buildups are from the mineral content of the wood the tree has absorbed. My integra (old style, round pot) hated cheep pellets. My Accentra has less buildup in the burn pot, with the cheep pellets I am burning. But,I found out years ago, with my integra, and, neighbors stoves, crank it up on high for a few hours, the day before you clean the stove,it crystallizes the mess.Same as a "hot burn" in wood stoves. Also,as I used to burn anthracite, back in MD,same thing,a hot burn before cleaning. My f/s accentra is bad about this, because of design, ash builds up in the lower level, which "insulates" those parts of the cast steel,so,a hot burn takes care of this.Just my 2 cents.PS,my friends, with England stoves, now do a hot burn before cleaning, and have less problems.
