Heard of Cattaraugus but have never been in it. If you know of Bonnie, then you know of the Allegheny and Kinzua. I used to camp and boat down at Onoville.

And WINGS w/beer of course! At the Casino down in Bemus! Hot sauce & butter. But that was...cough, cough...a couple years ago.

One more...Do you remember when you could go to the Falls without a passport? The Maid of the Mist and those yellow recycled ponchos that made everyone look like giant ducks under the Falls.

We used to run over the bridges to the brewer's retail outlets (mostly for the Labatt's Velvet Cream Porter) all the time like you were just going down to the corner store! The good old days! I'm pretty sure I have some photos of those giant yellow ducks................. I'll look for them.

devilsbrew- The Catt is a great experience in the fall or spring for Lake Erie Steelhead. There's a lot of fishable water and a good day on the river will leave your arms exhausted from fighting chrome bullets. I know Onoville really well and have fished all the Allegany State Park streams and lakes. The Allegheny itself is fun for smallies and carp. I also lined a musky one time that instantly broke me off...
Boog- I missed the post on fishing!! I'm a big time lake-run guy and have explored nearly all streams from the Pennsylvania line to the Salmon River in Pulaski. I have also hit most of the WNY and CNY trout streams. I use a centerpin w/ a spey rod and usually drift egg sacks or flies. I've fished Yellowstone area and Utah for trout--- NY is on that level for sure. I haven't been up to Alaska or Oregon yet.

    Great thread, for multiple reasons.

The Browns are always gonna screw the draft. Looking forward to see how it plays out this year.

Lived and worked in Buffalo for 4 years, loved WNY. If I ever become a snowbird, and if family location doesn't matter, I'm heading somewhere in rural NY, maybe out by the Finger lakes. So much to do, and the weather there in the summer is absolutely fantastic.

I guess everybody is different. As Mithesaint mentioned, if I decide to become a snowbird, then WNY is where I would move. Here, everything shuts down during the winter. The Southern Tier always has something going on, even Winter Festivals. Moving back to WNY still crosses my mind. The ridiculous taxes and laws and such aren't such a bad trade off for the lifestyle.

Oh lord I forgot about the taxes. Nevermind. I'm staying in Ohio!! My house here costs me about 2K per year in taxes...a comparable place in WNY would be 8-10K/year. I still can't believe that people tolerate that. To each his own.

I have never had anything close to a real wick sandwich outside of that region. Those things BW3 sells are pathetic, just fancied up burgers! If its not dripping gravy/Au Jus/horseradish on a true salty kummelweck roll, it ain't a "wick" sandwich! Check out this link!

Only 225 miles for me! Those ones in that photo look a little dry though, I like them "drippier" than that! And I forgot about the obligatory pickle too!

(PS - I know where we can get some great ones near Walled Lake/Peak'in Peak NY area, only 120 miles away!)

I think we should rename this thread the Browns, Bills, Wing & Weck thread! Cold beer of course too!!

Things are looking good. Several news articles are reporting today that Hoyer looked "IMPRESSIVE" in his first practice yesterday since tearing his ACL last year. We're also trying out Vince Young all week to see if he has anything left in the tank for a backup veteran. If all goes well we may only need to draft one QB!

Well the Browns did take two QB this week, but not in the draft. The Cleveland Browns' first minicamp has ended, and after giving tryouts to two veteran quarterbacks -- Vince Young and Tyler Thigpen -- the team has decided to sign both of them to one-year deals. So we have 3 "old" veteran QBs now, and I think that "trick shot" guy Alex Tanney, who we stole off the Cowboy's practice squad at the end of last year is still with them too. Most of these guys may just be camp arms who will never make the final cut, but that's definitely going to put a twist in things. All the more pointing to us just taking a developmental guy in later rounds or the biggest smoke screen of all time!

Poor Bernie ........................ never really cared for him or thought he was that great. Of course I was still a Bills fan during his run, and Elway was my favorite QB back then!

Browns need to keep a coach for more than 1 or 2 years.
Hard to build a winning play-off/super bowl team with only 2 years to do it.
    Tough division for sure ,
    but
Steelers in the re-build mode, now we see if Tomlin is a coach, only has super bowl Q-back & old DBs
    Ravens rebuilding too.
Bengals looking to be the division winners again.
Browns, who knows, no idea from year to year who will be there. ?

    Go Steelers :)
