Shorts come in handy when you're too lazy to rake the coals to the front in a N/S stove.
Or just want a fire in the front.

My OWB would take 1/2 to 3/4 of those drums a day. Two drums a day in this cold weather. How long does a drum last for your stove?

I usually use mine at night and load N/S. I can pack if full and not worry too much about it falling on the door. My stove normally loads 18-20" E/W. About 12" N/S.

A drum will last several days to a week. I don't burn them all the time, usually when I need to pack stove full for overnight or just a chunk or two to keep it going during the day.
