I have been rotating the 2 saws (362C and 441C). I keep them both running and make about 20 cuts, then set the other down to idle (cool) and run the other one for 20 cuts, then set it down to idle (cool) Cutting just cookies builds up more heat because the cuts are so frequent. With actual firewood, you cut, move over cut, move over, maybe roll the log and finish the rest of the cut, etc.
When I show up at the golf course wanting to burn some fuel, they scramble the trucks/tractor. I ran 3 tanks through a 441 and made one helluva mess. Dropped, topped and limbed 3 silver maples, all with the 441, one was a good 26" DBH and the other two were 12" and 16". Cut to firewood length and it took me a good 3 hours. The 441 goes a heck of a lot longer on fuel than my 460s did, that's for sure! I seriously doubt my buddy got all that wood out in one load even tho he used my 1 ton.
The leaner is still there. I will get it tomorrow or Sun. These are the 2 that were snapped in half. That leaner was discussed with my neighbor (Amish) and I have full permission to drop it on the fence. The parents are having an auction on May 15th (they WILL have my Cants done by then) and selling EVERYTHING and moving out west, to Missouri. Two of the children are buying it (about my age) and gonna lice a little more modern life. They will be putting a Mill back in, but it will be more modern (Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electric ) A beginning to an even better relationship with my neighbor So that leaner will be pulled and or pushed one way or another. He said he will being a loader out and help me. I can't wait to take a tour of the house.
