Always something. Two more rocks back in the woods. Cole enough to pull them out for the kids to play on. The last five or six is "The rock" as the family always called. (Original. Eh?) It sat in the middle of the hill ever since I was a kid. But I wanted out if there. We always had to stand on top of it if we were playing center field in soft ball or kick ball so you knew where it was, the went after the ball from there. LOL This was the toughest to move yet. Took everything the hoe had to dig around it pull it out of the hole. Not the tallest rock, but the biggest around I I believe the heaviest. Had to slide it up the hill a little at a time.
To its final resting place. I think it should be big enough that the three kids and Mom or Dad can sit on top and have a picnic lunch! Almost ready for seed.
Great, great, great pics Gas. How much fuel did you burn up moving that bad boy? You're very right about how lots of folks don't understand the costs involved in running a business. This is just as gooder as looking at stacks of firewood.

Thanks guys. Appreciated. I can't wait for this project to get completed. It has been a big one and I need to relax and just cut the grass when it needs it. No seed down yet. I forgot my son had a baseball game tonight. I always try to go to the ones I can (days off). Hopefully it won't rain until dark or at least till I'm get home from game. So I can burn those piles! Spreading that topsoil is a tough job. I'm trying to do the work of a Dozer with the Bobcat loader and York rake. It still is not ready. I think I'm going to have to rake it several times after it gets dried out.
You're in the home stretch now Gas. Take whatever time it needs to get your finish grade the way you want it so you won't look at it later and go... ... looks as tho that's exactly the approach you've taken. Can't say it enough... awesome job man...

This one back by camp I can't light till it is really raining good. Maple tree is about 30 feet behind it. Camp light on. That was old power cord!
LOFL it just started pouring so hard I could not get the one by the camp lit! I did manage to get a shower though! No grass seed down, but three large fires almost gone. One medium one left.
Thanks Stinny. I want to get that seed down badly man. But down by the pond where I spread all that top soil it is still way to rough. Problem is I need to get it planted, we want to start having gatherings down there for the family and I want to give the seed several weeks to get going. All that area around the camp is a lot of dirt. That is actually ready though. Maybe I will get that planted Friday or Saturday and hopefully get some work done on the pond area this weekend as well. Back to work tomorrow. It will wait a few more days now.
I forgot to answer your question about fuel. The diesel in the bobcat is not bad on fuel. I have gone through about 30-35 gallons between the Bobcat and ghe Ford tractor on this entire project. That includes doing a few other things around the house.
I know, from burning a lot of brush piles, that you're grinning perty good this morning. And, that you were able to relax a bit after you could see you had all of the piles under control and "removing" branches like crazy... bet you really enjoyed that... ... :firepit:
Very true my friend. Very true. Thanks. I am relieved. And no, I did not just pass gas. I am relieved to see those piles gone. When I left last night, when it was down pouring really hard, the two big piles were probably 95% gone. I was really happy with how well they burned and how complete they burned. I know the heat coming off of them was incredible. And the one to the right of the pond was burning and rather large. I will see this morning how much of the other one is left. Take a ride down when I leave for work. After it started raining hard we had down pours off and on for the next two hours with steady rain in between. So I am thinking it may have put that last fire out and left some of it to burn again. With all that water I won't be able to go down there with the Bobcat for a while. I made some ruts the other day with that thing and boy does it stink when you are mowing the grass and have to go over those ruts. Something else I am going to have to fix.
Three 25 lb, bags of seed down around the camp and trees at top of hill. York raked the lower area again. It's getting a little better, but I think it will require raking it two or three more times. I have three more bags left.
