Seen ad early yesterday morning,took a walk to check it out first since no pictures were added.Looked pretty good,most was cut to 1 to 3 foot lengths depending on diameter,most brush in separate pile next to it. Ended with about 1 1/2 pickup loads in 2 trips.Diameters from 2 to 14 inches. About half of this I'm giving to sister for her firepit.The small shorter odd shaped pieces/chunks mostly. On an related note - I noticed yesterday morning my tree service contact had another ad listed - this time for 2 Honey Locusts & 1 Black Walnut being removed.And this morning already he had another ad for a Silver Maple just 5 blocks to my west & south coming down today. Last Wednesday he took down a Black Cherry & another Silver Maple,pretty sure the wood is gone now, even though the ad hadn't been deleted yet. Another ad by someone this morning already has a bunch of oak (most likely White or Bur,its a bit more common in older neighborhoods of my city than Red or Black) in their backyard,most already cut up with easy access barely 1 mile from me near the university campus. Gonna have to pass on that one,not much space here now obviously. But a great opportunity for someone if they're willing to put out some effort.
What a great scrounge, I can't wait til I retire and trade my car in for a pickup, so I can get some good scrounges. Right now I have to settle for what I can cram into the back of the Vibe.
Welcome to the forum Firebroad. Hey, we had a Vibe. Great little car. Sold it last summer though but our new car doesn't get quite as good of gas mileage. Still over 30 mpg though and this with an automatic transmission where our Vibe was standard. But, you will like the pickup so long as you don't have to drive a lot. You'll definitely be buying more gas!!!!
