    Compression is good enough to tear two callous off my hand from starting and restarting it while adjusting the carb! I don't have a compression gauge but I know why the later models came with a decompression button.

    Warm and hot restarts are easy.

    You want a little 4 stroke on the high end out of wood. If it's tuned where it's smooth now it's too lean for long cuts. Probably needs clutch Springs at least if the idle creeps like that.
