That is a good cigar. You can’t go wrong with most of RP's sticks. To me, they are always smooth smoking and perfectly wrapped.

While on my weekly drive, had this to help pass the time. Rocky Patel Broadleaf toro. I got it a couple weeks or so ago. Coulddn't wait any longer to try it. Started out bad on the light, but then it quickly settled down and was good until the last 1/3 or less...got too hot for my tastes. It'll be real good by the time summer comes after a nice long rest in the coolidor. I would buy again, but it would have to be a good deal since I'd have to let it age so long.... I would rate it at a med-full and not the med rating that it is given.

One more trip on Thu. Wonder what it'll be on that day?

Picked up an 1844 Upman Churchill this week on clearance sale. Maybe that!

The Mark Twain Memoir compares to the Rocky Patel Broadleaf as a milder cigar. The taste of the RP is slightly better (IMO) but close enough.

    upload_2017-12-1_8-44-33.jpeg upload_2017-12-1_8-45-0.jpeg

Mark Twain is a Nicaraguan whereas the RP would be Honduran and Nicaraguan.

The Mark Twain was in collidor for some time (1 yr?) as the cellophane was beginning to tint vs. the RP which was pretty much right off the truck.

I want to compare these to this one next-

The Twains need a lot of rest before they are smokable. When fresh I found them to be rough.

Seems to me I remember that now!

The G2 maduro was not enjoyable....the last one I had was, but not this one. Different class than the memoir or broadleaf.

I had to get up and walk away form the computer last night as the cigar auction site I visit had some killer deals available....on of those the more I looked, the more I found and can't believe that no one had increased the bids type of night! I'm sure I would have bid on at least three lots. Maybe due to the ball game; but who knows? Sad to say, I have just as much money this morning as I did last night...but no additional cigars, either...:(

I got an email from Cigar bids that has a private auction going on Drew Estates Undercrowns for just over $4 a stick on a box of 25. I’m debating whether or not to pull the trigger as money is tight this month.

I have to share this with someone...(lucky you!)

Stopped into a store that is closing permanently and they have a cigar/pipe section. Ready for this?

Arturo Fuente Sungrown sold for 5.50 a stick. They have two less now. If it turns out to be a good cigar, I'm stopping in next week!

I'm thinking they'll knock the price down from 40% off to 50% off next week.

I bought a Rocky Patel, Drew Estates and Olivia NUBs maduro and Connecticut. I’m in training this week and will do my best to try all of the different cigars. I’ll post thoughts and reviews.

Had one of these on Sunday. Glad I only bought two of them. It wasn't bad, just wasn't really good, is all. The one R P sungrown maduro I had was far better IMO.

Now the same store had a few RYJ 1875's left that I think need a new home....;)

I have been buying cigars that I've wanted to try form a store that is closing it's doors. Only trouble is, they must have shut off the humidity control in the display cases of the cigars!

Gonna have to let them rest for awhile to see if they recover.

Upmann 1844 and Romeo 1875 going for about 2.50 right now.

Tried this one this week. Cigar aficionado rated it at 93. I don't mind it, but don't plan on buying again.

    Dang....waited too long!

Got an e-mail from a buddy saying that the book store that was closing down for the past month or so has already locked it's doors. So what, right? This is also the store that had a cigar collection last marked at 70% off! Yeah, they were overpriced to begin with, but these prices allowed me to try some cigars that I had been wanting.

Last weeks cigar by Davidoff. I found another store that was clearing them out....1.80 each!

Mild and enjoyable. Glad I bought all they had left...(5)

This weeks cigar was a Christmas gift. Used to be called Makers Mark but is called bourbon cigar now.

Not for me.....but extremely nice aroma when released from tube!
