I tried the Padron 2000 and have to say it was a disappointment!

I like the way the ash presents itself.

Long filler in a small smoke. Most smaller smokes are clippings and scrap.

I try to steer away from the short filler or the sandwich fillers.
Also, usually the smallest smoke I'll get is a robusto.
I was liking the color of the ash itself.

Side note story, a buddy of mine and I went for a ride on Sunday and asked him if he would like a cigar, he choose a don tomas churchill. I have never seen anyone smoke a cigar so fast! He said it was real good, as he removed it from the cellophane, I noticed that it was yellowed from the cigar! Anyway, dropped him off at his house and that evening I got an e-mail from him stating that he got sick after he got home!!!!

That nic creeps up on ya sometimes. Sweet drinks usually help if you get a little green from a smoke. Also love finding buried yellow celo I have one so yellowed it's hard to see thru it lol

That is a funny story. Big long cigars have a tendency to cause my blood pressure to elevate so I do not smoke them very often. I usually stay with a medium size then no issues.
I smoke a pipe most of the time.

Actually, I find the first 1/2 of the longer sticks (Churchhills..) are a milder smoke... comparably to the same brand/tobacco from a shorter stick. This is because the cigar itself is "filtering" the smoke on it's way thru..... ;)

Yooper, I'm not sure I've tried a 2000, but I've had a bunch and have yet to find one I wasn't happy with. The Padron's are premium privately owned brand. They have the longest fermentation process from what I have been told. There's a great video/biography on youtube about Padron.

Taste buds are definitely different for everybody. You tend to like the Tatuaje's you have mentioned, and I have yet to find one of those I would smoke on a regular basis, although I've only tried a few. Just two or 3 years ago I used to almost puke at just a taste of a strong IPA beer. Today, I can't get enough IPA! Crazy how our tastes and preferences are not only different, but change over time.

What do you guys like to drink with a cigar? Late night on weekends or at a party...., I like dipping my cigar tip in a snifter of B&B and poking on it. But most other times a sip a Scotch (Glenmorangie, Macallan...) or a small batch Bourbon (100's of these around now!), OR making a nice "Teddy's Old Fashioned" (muddle a slice of orange in a squirt of simple syrup, add Rye whiskey, and a dash of bitters). Good stuff!!!

I just might indulge myself NOW! :D

It is not too frequent that I will enjoy a cigar and a drink at the same time. Usually a summer evening in the screen porch at the cottage for both of those to fall into place. But then, it's scotch or some other type of whiskey (rye, then bourbon).

Padron doesn't age their x000 line like they do the anniversary line. I'm pretty sure you are referring to the couple yrs aging after any of the anniversaries are rolled. Now if you bought a x000 series and aged it a couple years you will have a cigar that tastes like most of their higher end stuff for a 1/4 the price.
I'd be interested in knowing which tats you've tried because I've only found 2 lines I do not like of the 15+ they offer. I would highly recommend you try the 7th capa which is one of the best regular production cigars you can buy for a decent price.
