I did an interweb search and on some other forum had that video posted; by firefighterjake. A propane torch would not catch the tree on fire! Of course some conifers may have more oil in the needles than others and that might make a difference? I don't know as I don't have that data.

Update; I am taking the tree down today. Mum always took it down on New Year's Day. I would wake up and she would already have all the decorations off ready for me to haul it out the door. I noticed that the tree is somewhat dry; this was a red cedar that I found on the property and I think they dry out quicker than other types of trees; they have very thin needles. So next year I need to see about a different type of tree or go artificial. How easy is it for an artificial tree to catch on fire?

I think all artificial trees have to be fireproofed but not 100% certain on this.
