On Sunday we finally planned to move my 30’ travel trailer farther into the woods near my friend’s property line. We hooked up his Ford E350 15 passenger van and tried to move it. Unfortunately after a year in the same place, the tires had sunk 4 inches into the ground and his rear wheel drive van didn’t have enough traction to pull it out.

So I placed an “emergency” call to my brother-in-law @pawoodturner and he and my sister and family came down for the day to help. Steve has a brand new HUGE GMC 4x4 pick up with a 500 hp, 1000fp torque diesel.

That monster of a truck had no trouble moving my trailer but by the time we got it all hooked up, it was too dark to maneuver it into the spot we had planned.

I picked up a 3 point hitch trailer mover from Rural King this week, put it on my 4x4 Ford 27hp diesel tractor today, and, amazingly that compact 2600 pound tractor moved my 30’ 7000 pound trailer without spinning a wheel or making a single groan.

I get more impressed with this little tractor every time I use it!

Beautiful view of fields and sunset out my rear windows now! (My rear windows swing out and up as an emergency fire escape. They now overlook a deer lick and the area where I put out apples every evening for the deer. In a necessity my trailer will also serve as a handy game blind.) 76D20CBA-9A02-4745-9058-A7BE5C75C5C4.jpeg 34508D12-AEDF-41F1-ADB5-2AB5AD81601E.jpeg 67F0C0B8-BA68-408D-AD60-17DAB5A38023.jpeg E2F9DDEF-8EEA-4B18-9316-7529080E7869.jpeg 58B38DB9-41C0-4647-B932-8C3FA13610AE.jpeg

    I've
I've destroyed numerous things with the ROPS on my tractor, most recently two of the panels on my ground mount solar array.
Mine doesn't fold to stow either. I've thought about modifying it to fold but I'd probably forget to extend it and then roll the tractor.

If you can get an older style dirty reliable one, then that can save you a lot of headaches and $$. That's also why I'll probably never get a newer diesel car/ truck. What was once a simple engine, is now overly complicated and finicky.

Can't agree more. Last year I needed a 4WD utility tractor for running an orchard sprayer. I wanted turf tires and a loader too. Looked for quite a while and found an old school pre emission 2002 Case IH DX-33 with 398 hours on it. Runs like a clock.

I've put on almost 90 in a year, works great for firewood duty too.
