Not a bad load IMO! Nice straight logs. Sure beats a gnarly yard tree. The rot is a 50/50 shot with red maple IME.

Im with you on the fast drying. Id take about ten loads like that right now. Ready to start filling another bay on the bundle wood shed. :stacker: What am I saying, I'm always filling the bundle wood shed!:picard:

There’s actually more here than I originally estimated from the picture my wife sent me last night. Also thrown into the mix are a couple Norway maple logs, one fairly large. I’ll call this a win

Agreed. I wouldn’t have been aggravated much to begin with except that each time I set it up to give the tree service a $20 tip (completely optional-that’s what it costs them to use ChipDrop in the first place) So after those other 2 places didn’t deliver, I had to log into my account, and request a refund. But… all’s good now.

That's definitely a nice load! I've been waiting for months (thankfully I have other sources) and still hoping for a drop. I was curious about the tip - I'm at $20 as well and wondered if I should increase to get their attention. For a nice load, it's worth not having to drive several miles and lug the logs home.

I’ve always just done $20 and I seem to get a delivery within a few weeks. Back in January when I got two loads of nice red oak I also gave the driver $20 in cash too.
I hope you make out well soon

I'm sure tipping the driver puts you at the top of his list!

I started chewing through some of the maple this morning. There will be plenty of noodling on a lot of these rounds down the road, if I want to make splits that’ll stack well. No complaints here though!

Nice progress Eric! Early forecast said a rainout this weekend so I didn't make any wood plans. Now I'm regretting it.

Beautiful day here too… calm before the storm though. I’d love to be out processing more of my log pile right now but I’ve got other stuff going on. You must have a decent amount of rounds piling up now?

Just a few here and a bunch at my parents. Dad's friend showed us another tree he wants down but jeez, its heavily leaning towards the road and power lines so I think I'll pass, unless I invest in a throw bag and a launcher.
I really gave up on my one app for predicting the weather. For years I could rely on it being good for 24hrs ahead but it failed me the other week. Took the bike to work and had to ride home in the wet. Suns a beaches. :picard: We have the grandkid coming here in a few so it'll be a great day regardless, then off to see a YES concert tonight. :salute:
Love the tires on the cubby.

Ready to get split/stacked. Some of this came from a smaller neighborhood Norway maple but the bulk is ChipDrop wood.

Find out which kinds of suds they like and save them a stop at the convenience store on the way home?

I started splitting the red maple today. It looks like I’m not even halfway through all the ChipDrop wood yet, but I’ll get there eventually. In the foreground is the small score of black cherry I got last week. To the right of that are a bunch of white oak rounds with rotten sapwood. Ugly as they may be, they’ll still make fine firewood.

What’s still in rounds. Mostly Norway maple but a few rounds of red maple mixed in. I’ll stack them separately (to a point anyway, they have similar drying times)

I underestimated how much red maple was actually in this ChipDrop. I’ve got just over a cord stacked so far, with a few good sized rounds still on the ground. Then there’s the Norway maple…
