They are definitely quirky. Get a better appreciation for terms like pecking order, chicken scratch, flocking, etc. My favorite is when one finds something good, instead of just eating it, it takes off running so the other ones know it has something good and chases it. I know, small things amuse small minds...I had been told that the daylight is a factor and some operations that keep the chickens inside all the time cycle the light to duplicate a sunrise and sunset in half the time to double the production.

That's where I got them, not sure how many the store got in but they sold out in hours.

The big hounds are actually a little timid of them, but Willow the lab/beagle is way too interested. I had to put the chicks up on a work bench and build a small fortress around them. 20200320_135736.jpg

My wife is a school teacher and going crazy trying to teach/manage herclassroom remotely:hair:, she has kind of taken over chick duty(mother hen) a good diversion for her:thumbs:

They will definitely keep you occupied! Which kinds did you get?

    Looking forward to your build!

The black ones are barred rock pullets, the yellow ones are mixed bantams. One of each dead so far.
