Just got back from the neighbors place...they had a fire in the shop today, a business truck, a really nice custom truck, a shop full of tools, a lifetime collection of spare parts and various truck and equipment goodies, etc, etc...all toast. Looks like either wood stove, or electrical related...exact cause pending investigation. Have better pics, but just gonna post this one, for privacy reasons. This is obviously after the fire was mostly out...
That sucks! I see the outside chimney. Keep us posted with your findings. Glad no one hurt, too bad about the contents though.
Yeah he had a real nice class A chimney, which surprised me because these old farm shops usually just have a homemade well casing chimneys. I dunno about the stove, but the guy that rents the farm said it was a really nice unit and he kept the area around it clear n clean. The guy is a long time wood heater operator too...house and shop both. Is usually at least a year ahead on wood too. My guess would be they will find out it was electrical...I heard there were issues with power in the building throughout the day today.
